One of the greatest moments in the history of music and Jimi Hendrix’s career was the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. This is where he set fire to his guitar at the end of the set. The Monterey Pop Stratocaster was a Fender Strat , which was hand painted by Jimi. However, there was a lesser known predecessor to that guitar, the Saville Strat. This is another hand painted Fender Strat which was smashed in London’s Saville Theater in 1967.
